At Gifting Solutions, we always try to find fundraising solutions for Hospitals and Charities. We are based in Southampton and our staff all live in the area so we are very keen to help local causes.

When we heard that Southampton University were not part of the NUS and therefore their students could not benefit from the NUS Extra card, we decided to try and do something about it! We thought that if we could get local retailers involved with local students then we could all help each other in this uncertain economic climate. Finally, we also felt that the card should be free for students.

So, we set up the Gifted Card which is designed to provide University of Southampton students and staff with discounts at retailers, restaurants, bars and leisure facilities across Southampton as well as raising additional funds for the Southampton University Students’ Union.

If you show your card to a participating retailer (there’s a full list on this website), you will be given their discount or offer. So whether you want cheap tickets for shows at the Mayflower Theatre, a cheaper round of drinks or fries with that, please remember to keep your card to hand!

Our website also contains a comprehensive online shopping mall with hundreds of well know high street and online brands. Every time you visit the Gifted website and then shop with one of the many retailers we have linked into we get paid commission. We have agreed with Southampton University Students’ Union that we will donate 50% of any commission raised to the SU to help with clubs and societies. The other 50% will be used to cover some of the card costs. The commission is not added to your bill in any way (so it costs you nothing!), the online prices are exactly the same (or even better because of the exclusive deals you only get by shopping with Gift) as if you had gone directly to the retailer themselves.

So, carry the card and use it wherever you see a “Gifted” sticker in the window or at the till.
